Ashley is a dedicated and compassionate registered nurse with 14+ years of overall healthcare experience and six+ years as a nurse. Currently finishing her doctorate as a Nurse Practitioner at the University of Michigan.
Born and raised in Traverse City, Michigan, Ashley is a true native of northern Michigan. Her extensive background encompasses critical care, emergency medicine, orthopedics, cardiology, neurology/stroke, trauma, respiratory disease, family medicine, and teaching nursing students. She has a passion for learning new things and helping others reach their full potential.
Ashley’s strong suits include her unwavering positivity, boundless compassion, and exceptional empathy. She excels in effective communication, particularly in difficult situations, and thrives in conflict resolution.
Outside of her professional life, Ashley finds joy as a mom and wife, spending quality time with her family, especially in the great outdoors. Whether it’s camping, swimming, snowmobiling, fishing, or traveling, she embraces the beauty of nature. Additionally, Ashley enjoys expressing her creativity through painting, crafting and music.
Nikki is a dedicated bachelors prepared registered nurse with 12+ years of overall healthcare experience and six+ years of this as a nurse. She is a lifelong learner who is committed to staying up to date with the latest advancements in healthcare while continuing her education working towards her masters of science in integrative health and wellness. Nikki is native of beautiful Higgins Lake! She has also spent two years exploring the divine culture of Alaska.
Throughout her career, Nikki has gained experience in various areas of nursing starting her career in geriatrics. Since, she has worked in the pre operative and postoperative setting, acute care, medical surgical, and most recently surgical coordination and management of orthopedic oncology patients. She has also taken on administrative leadership roles.
Nikki’s strong suits lie in her compassionate and empathetic nature, as well as her ability to provide kindness and support to her patients. She is passionate about empowering individuals and advocating for their needs. Her professionalism and strength make her a trusted and respected member of the healthcare community.
Outside of work, Nikki cherishes spending quality time with her family. They often enjoy outdoor activities such as boating on the lake, spending time at their cabin in the UP, snowmobiling, and adventuring the beautiful grounds of northern Michigan. In addition to her love for the outdoors, Nikki is also passionate about coaching her daughters sports teams. One of Nikki’s hidden passions and talents is art and design. She has a knack for drawing and finds fulfillment in expressing herself through various artistic mediums.
Dr. Jeffrey D. Strickler, MD, FAAFP has been a practicing physician in Roscommon County for over 25 years. Dr. Strickler is Board-Certified in Family Medicine and specializes in Wellness, Disease Prevention, Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement, Medically Supervised Weight Loss and Medical Aesthetics including Laser Therapy.
Dr. Strickler received a Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University and subsequently completed Medical School at Michigan State University’s College of Human Medicine. He completed a 3-year Family Medicine Residency training program at EW Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, Michigan in 1999 and subsequently moved to Roscommon and started practicing in Houghton Lake/Prudenville where he spent the next 22 years.
In 2021 Dr. Strickler left corporate medicine to open Village Family Medicine PC in the village of Roscommon. Village Family Medicine PC is a concierge-style family practice that also offers Medically Supervised Weight Loss, Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement and Medical Aesthetics.
Dr. Strickler has a passion for Northern Michigan and enjoys traveling, hunting, boating, golfing and spending time with family. He has two sons, Logan age 24 and Jackson age 21. Logan is in his last year of Law School at Michigan State and Jackson is attending Ferris State University’s PGA Professional Program in the Fall. Dr. Strickler married his wife, Rachael in the Fall of 2021 and also has two stepdaughters, Jaela age 21 and Mya age 10. Jaela graduated from Grand Valley State University in the Spring of 2024 and is planning on attending Medical School in 2025. Mya will be entering 5th grade at Grayling Middle School this Fall.
